CERT MEDICAL EXPLORERS
Medical Explorer Post 4077 has been asked to serve as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to back-up local EMS in large community events such as university football games, graduations, and community events such as the San Marcos community celebration - Sights and Sounds of Christmas.
To become a CERT volunteer in addition to a Medical Explorer, they offer training by the Hays County Emergency Preparation directors in both fall and spring semesters. Medical Explorers can participate in further more advanced CERT training outside of their regular meetings. These classes may prepare the volunteer to be a shelter manager during hurricane evacuation, as well as other responsibilities. Ask your medical explorer advisers for information about further training opportunities.
We currently have two Texas State Medical Explorer CERT Representatives, Clay Cooper and Rocky Ferony, who are available for contact to aid those who wish to be come CERT Certified and currently attend Texas State or are already Medical Explorers.
