CERT in Action

The CERT Basic Training features a revised Disaster Medical Operations section, an updated Terrorism and CERT section, and hazard-specific annexes. Find the curriculum materials online and order free copies through the FEMA publications warehouse online ordering platform

The CERT Basic Training includes research-validated guidance for CERT programs to teach members what to do before, during, and after the hazards their communities may face. The materials in the training include:

CERT members in leadership positions are encouraged to take the CERT Train-the Trainer and Program Manager Courses. Find more information through the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) and signup for course offerings too. 

Upcoming G-317 Training Courses 

February 2, 9, 16, 23 (Thursdays) 6-10 p.m. and practical on Saturday, Feb. 25, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Location: Hays County EOC

April 1, 8, 15 (Saturdays), 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Location: Dripping Springs Fire Department (tentative)

August 10, 17, 24, 31 (Thursdays) 6-10 p.m.

Location: Kyle Fire Department and practical on September 9 at Preparedness Fair (PAC in Kyle)

October 28, Nov. 4 and practical Nov. 18 ​(Saturdays) 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Location: Wimberley Fire Department (tentative) or option to attend the POD Nov. 20 for the practical
