Details from Kyle FD:
"Around 8:00 am this morning we received a HAZMAT call for a fuel spill from a tanker truck carrying ethanol at 4640 FM 1626. The tank was punctured releasing around 1,000 gallons of ethanol. Businesses and construction crews in the area have been evacuated and traffic is being controlled. Crews from Kyle FD, Buda FD, San Marcos FD, North Hays FD, Austin FD, Kyle PD, San Marcos Hays County EMS, Hays County OEM, and the Hays County CERT team are all on scene assisting. The leak is currently contained. Crews are in the process of laying down a foam blanket on the ground to start the off-loading process."
